The single greatest act a parent can perform for their child is to get them baptized. Baptism marks the beginning of one's life with God. It grants them the gift of the Holy Spirit. It makes them members of Christ's Body, the Church, and adopted sons and daughters of God. It also helps them get to Heaven, for Jesus says in Jn 3:5, "no one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and Spirit."
Parents who wish to have their child baptized should contact the parish, or fill out the baptism registration form below. The child is required to have at least one godparent, but there may be two (male and female). Because a godparent's role is to help model the Catholic faith for their child, a Catholic godparent should be one who practices their faith and is in good standing. For more info. about godparents, please contact Fr. Harry.
Once the baptism registration form has been completed, the sponsor letters have been received, and the parents have attended a baptism class (if this is their first child), someone from the parish will contact the parents to schedule the baptism. Baptisms usually take place following Sunday Mass, but accomodations can be made to do a baptism at other times.
To schedule a baptism class, please contact the parish office.
Adults or parents of older children who wish to be baptized can also contact the parish office.
